Systems Accountant (Frankston City)

Systems Accountant Frankston | 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension) We’re partnering with a leading organisation to appoint a Systems Accountant to join their Finance & Technology Group on a short-term contract. This role plays a key part in supporting core finance systems during a busy audit and year-end period, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, you’ll sit within a collaborative Finance & Commercial team (8–9 people), supporting the smooth operation, integrity and optimisation of finance systems. This role will suit a systems-focused accountant who enjoys problem-solving, improving processes and working across both finance and technology. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for the Finance ERP (Oracle Fusion Cloud) and associated systems (GL, AP, fixed assets, inventory)
- Maintain system integrity, data accuracy, integrations and day-to-day operations
- Support month-end and year-end finance system processes
- Assist end users with system queries and promote consistent system usage
- Administer balance sheet reconciliation tools (e.g. Blackline) and cash management integrations
- Support system improvements, digital transformation initiatives and audits
- Deliver ad hoc data analysis and reporting About You
- Experience with finance ERP systems (Oracle experience preferred)
- Robust Excel capability; Power BI exposure desirable
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and business processes
- Ability to troubleshoot system and process issues independently
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement capability
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business
- CPA/CA qualified or working towards (desirable)
- Exposure to SQL, IT or service desk environments is advantageous Key Requirements
- Systems-focused accountant with a strong accounting foundation
- Oracle ERP experience (Fusion Cloud highly regarded)
- Curious mindset with strong problem-solving capability
- Ability to work autonomously and adapt to peak periods (e.g. month-end, audits) Working Environment
- Hybrid model with 3 days in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday as standard team days)
- Flexibility required during peak periods such as month-end or system rollouts Contract Details
- Initial 3-month contract with a view to extend
