Garrett Hospitality Pty Ltd ATF Rottnest Hotel Trust No.1 and Rottnest Hotel Trust No.2 TAS Hotel Rottnest and Samphire Rottnest ABN: 88 145 681 852 Samphire Resort & Hotel Rottnest both operate with a solid volume of business. We are recruiting for an experienced Commis Chef. This role is responsible for supporting senior chefs in the preparation and service of food for our functions and busy restaurants. Key duties:
- Assist with day-to-day preparation and production according with the recipes.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
- Ensure all mise en place is completed before service begins.
- Handle tasks such as assembling salads, garnishing dishes, and portioning desserts.
- Actively pursue cost saving measures by minimizing wastage and recycling where possible.
- Receive and store deliveries. Check food quality, store according to FIFO System and review invoices for accuracy About You:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar qualification, either completed or ongoing.
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment would be an advantage
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Impeccable grooming standards
- Strong knowledge of food handling and hygiene principles
- Be versatile & available to work across a roster including weekdays, evenings, weekends & public holidays Please note this is a live-on role, which requires you to reside on Rottnest Island in shared staff accommodation. Salary between $76,515 and $78,000 per year. Please note only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
