Baker (Rottnest Island)

Rottnest Bakery are looking for their next Baking Superstar, working and living on Rottnest Island, where it’s beautiful one day, spectacular the next. Our bakery team work together to produce bread and pastries from scratch and our success depends on delivering the best customer experience we can. If you are energetic, outgoing, enjoy working in a team and most importantly have an “Of Course Attitude” then this is the role for you. Candidates must have a strong understanding of Scratch Baking methods. This is a permanent full-time salaried position offered with heavily subsidised accommodation to support the requirement to live on the Island. Skills/experience:
- Self-motivated, reliable, and a proactive team player
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high presentation standards
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including early morning and midnight start times
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- A Qualified Baker Key Responsibilities:
- Following established recipes and traditional bread-making methods, with accuracy and care
- Apply a solid understanding of scratch baking techniques
- Mix, scale, shape, and bake a wide range of artisan breads
- Utilise and maintain fermentation and sourdough processes (experience highly regarded)
- Monitor proofing and baking stages to ensure product quality and consistency
- Collaborate closely with a small, fast-paced team to meet production goals If this sounds like the right fit for you, we offer:
