Naval Architect Fremantle, WA

Keil Maritime is growing and we're looking for an experienced Naval Architect to join our Fremantle team. This is a diverse role in a small bespoke engineering company where you will be directly involved in vessel design, analysis, modifications, plan approval, repairs, mooring and tow warranty and marine survey work. Our projects span vessels, marine infrastructure, surveys, project management, regulatory compliance, and defence-related work throughout Australia and overseas. Current and recent projects include:
• Commercial vessel design and modification
• Maritime infrastructure projects
• Stability assessments and inclining experiments
• Overseas vessel inspections and design assurance reviews
• Mooring design and assessment
• AMSA initial and periodic surveys
• Tow warranty and marine warranty inspections About you ✓ Position Based in Fremantle, WA. Interstate applicants must acknowledge this in their cover letter. ✓ Holds a Degree in Naval Architecture ✓ Has excellent verbal and written communication skills ✓ Has at least 2 years industry experience ✓ Can work to Classification Society, IMO, and AMSA requirements ✓ Enjoys practical engineering and solving real-world marine problems ✓ Is comfortable working independently and within a team ✓ Is willing to work towards AMSA Accredited Marine Surveyor qualifications ✓ Enjoys site work, vessel inspections and travel Desirable:
• Rhino, AutoCAD, Maxsurf and/or FEA experience
• Commercial vessel experience including stability assessments
• Classification Society experience (DNV, Lloyd's Register, ABS, BV, RINA) and familiarity with ship building, ship structures and international and national engineering standards Why join us?
