Position Objective This position provides general administration and operational support services to ensure the efficient and effective operation of a police district. It operates in a team-based environment, with responsibilities including providing guidance and direction to other staff in the performance of these services. Application Process Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work‑related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:
- Communication skills – answering queries and providing a high level of customer service, preparing correspondence and written reports, liaising with personnel at all levels, understanding local cultural issues, participating as a team member to meet targets and deadlines, and supporting, coaching and developing team members under supervision.
- Problem‑solving skills – researching, evaluating and providing advice and recommendations on administrative and other matters. Applicants must also submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). The CV should contain enough detail—bullet points are sufficient—to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the key accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form. Include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on your ability to satisfy all essential work‑related requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist. For applicants deemed suitable, all essential work‑related requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process. Other Conditions This selection process may be used to fill the above vacancy and other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. If the successful applicant declines or vacates the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this process. These options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment. Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
