Animal Attendant (Fyshwick)

We are looking to grow our friendly team of Animal Carers. If you love working with small dogs, are outstanding with customers and looking to join a diverse team, then look no further!

ACT Barks and Recreation is currently open five days a week from 8:00am to 5:30pm, offering a range of shifts across the day. Our focus is on providing a high-quality daycare service for small to medium sized dogs.

Our Animal Attendants are required to:

- manage dogs during group play, basic training and behaviour modification, take dogs for walks in the local area, monitor health and wellbeing of dogs
- maintain a low-stress environment for dogs including using Fear Free practices
- deliver professional customer service including greeting clients and answering basic questions
- keep accurate records and provide owners with key information about their dog’s time while at daycare
- have a medium level of fitness and be willing to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
- maintain a clean and safe workspace by following work health and safety policies and infection control procedures

**Skills and Experience**

Applicants should have:

- a minimum of six months experience working with dogs in an animal care setting, and/or
- relevant national qualifications in animal care, companion animals, or dog behaviour and training (Certificate II level or above).
- First Aid qualifications for humans or animals is desirable.

Pay: $28.25
- $35.70 per hour
