Canberra Heart Rhythm is a specialised Cardiology clinic in Canberra, dedicated to patients with heart rhythm disorders. We are looking for a hard-working professional for our busy specialist Medical practice in Canberra. We are a dynamic and enthusiastic group and are looking for a keen individual to join us. We are focused on both individual and team-based work, to provide excellent care to patients. website: Overview of the position: The position is a full-time on-site position. The role is divided between reception and clinical assistant duties, the candidate will be trained in general cardiology/reception roles and basic cardiology investigations.
- Appointment bookings and confirmations
- Liaising with patients to coordinate appointments and procedures
- Ensuring valid referrals and treating specialists are on file
- Triaging medical requests and recent referrals
- Answering patient enquiries via email, fax and phone
- Medicare, DVA, Bupa and 3rd party billing
- Theatre bookings
- Patient Satisfaction
- Treatment coordination
- Arranging procedural bookings, quotes and 1:1 care for patients
- Clinical assistance
- ECG, Stress test, BP monitor and assistance in clinic

The successful candidate will be working closely with a team of administrative staff to maintain high professionalism and service to the patients. You will work with all staff closely on a daily basis to complete shared roles, ensure continuity of patient care, follow protocols and provide patients with an enjoyable and memorable experience. The team is supportive and will assist in guiding your education and training to a point where you are comfortable to work independently. We are looking for a happy and bubbly person to join our administration team. The administration team are the backbone to the practice and are vital in coordinating patient care. Essential skills and qualifications required by applicants: 1. Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) 2. Experience in using a medical software and Medicare billing 3. Knowledge of Data entry for record keeping (Excel, Microsoft Access) Desirable skills: 1. Work experience in a medical or allied health clinic. 2. Work experience of more than 3 years in administration desirable 3. Accounting or book-keeping experience Essential qualities and characteristics: 1. Confident and professional communication both face-to-face and over the phone 2. Reliability and initiative 3. Understands the need for a high level of confidentiality and maturity 4. Great time management and organisational skills 5.
