**About the Branch** The Information and Security Branch coordinates the Information Communication Technology, Records Management and Security services to support the Mint, enabling the organisation to produce circulating coins, preserve the National Coin Collection and tell the stories of Australia by recognising significant anniversaries, events, and organisations through coins.

**About the Role** Working within the IT Infrastructure & Database team, the Database Administrator provides all database administrative tasks. Including cooperating professionally with other ICT teams and teams throughout the Mint and provide a high level of SQL knowledge and advice. Managing the day-to-day maintenance of all SQL databases ensuring the quality and integrity of SQL backups and the ability to restore data from any time in a Disaster Recovery event.

The duties of this position include: 1. Supporting and upgrading Microsoft SQL Server databases. 2. Pro-active and continual performance monitoring, tuning and supporting of the SQL Server setting. 3. Creating and maintaining database-related documentation, including standard operating procedures, business continuity plans and disaster recovery documentation. 4. Developing, implementing or advising on suitable database solutions for project delivery. 6. Promoting and managing database and system security and ensuring adherence to Mint and Australian Government security policies. 8. Advising and assisting stakeholders with data related queries or incident. 9. Building team capacity and capability through effective succession planning, coaching of other staff. 10. Identifying risks and managing them effectively in the area of responsibility. 11. Scripting and automating common tasks.

**Security clearance** This position requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
