**Project Officers (several positions)**
**About Us**
Plant Health Australia (PHA) is the trusted coordinator of the Australian plant biosecurity system. We bring expertise, knowledge and stakeholders together to generate solutions that improve biosecurity outcomes to ensure that the system is future-oriented and solutions-focused.
**Your New Role**
We are looking for Project Officers to join the PHA team! If you have relevant qualifications in science, agriculture, agricultural science, environmental science, emergency management, law, business administration or a related field, and an interest in biosecurity, we want to hear from you.
Our Project Officers work across a diverse range of projects and programs, supporting PHA activities through:
- developing policies, procedures and guidelines
- coordination and engagement work
- stakeholder relationship activities
- developing plant biosecurity and related plans and strategies
- digital systems
- providing secretariat support to committees and working groups
To be successful as a PHA Project Officer, you will have:
- excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
- great communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- robust research, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- great organisational and secretariat support skills
- relevant qualifications and/or commensurate experience
In addition, we are interested in hearing from people with skills and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- plant biosecurity
- biosecurity diagnostics and surveillance
- emergency response and preparedness
- agricultural research, development and extension
- business administration, HR and governance
These positions are available on a full-time or part-time (minimum of around 20 hours per week) basis for two years or more, with the potential for extension. The location for some of these positions is flexible with the possibility of working remotely from home, with regular travel to the Canberra office.
