An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join our Victorian Project Management team, based in our Rowville head office or Geelong regional office, VIC. About D&E; Air Conditioning D&E; Air Conditioning is a very successful, long-standing Mechanical Services Company operating out of 6 locations around Australia. We have over three decades of success behind us with a demonstrable track record of sustainable profitability and more importantly, client satisfaction. The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our VIC Project Management Team. In this pivotal role, you will manage the delivery of VIC projects across a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, transport, data centres, commercial, retail, and specialist mechanical services. You will be responsible for project planning and coordination, budget and resource management, execution and monitoring, client and stakeholder engagement, safety, compliance and quality assurance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines and resource allocation and coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure accurate project alignment.
- Manage project budgets and the procurement of subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Oversee project resources including labour and subcontractors ensuring adherence to program schedule, project plans, specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.
- Actively monitor project execution, including site inspections and progress meetings, implement strategies to mitigate project risks and promptly resolve any issues.
- Act as the primary liaison for clients – managing communications, addressing inquiries and setting clear expectations whilst building and maintaining strong, long‑term relationships.
- Ensure the successfully delivery of projects
- Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors and internal teams throughout project life cycle.
- Ensure all activities (works, processes and documentation) comply with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, applicable codes, local standards, company policies and client requirements. To be successful for this role you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are desirable but not essential.
- Minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably with a Tier 1 or strong Tier 2 mechanical services Company.
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, ensuring effective budget control, resource allocation, and cost management.
- Confident leadership and accountability, leading by example, holding teams and subcontractors to high standards, and remaining composed under pressure.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage clients, manage expectations, and foster long‑term partnerships.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, capable of identifying risks early and resolving issues efficiently.
- A strong commitment to quality, compliance, and safety, consistently upholding company procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- A safety‑first approach, actively promoting a culture of protected work practices across all project activities.
- A continuous improvement mentality, demonstrating enthusiasm, professionalism, and a desire to grow as a leader and overall manager.
