Mayday is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Senior Funeral Consultant based in Geelong.
This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organised, and service-driven, with the ability to support families through sensitive and meaningful moments while coordinating and delivering professional funeral services. The Role
As a Senior Funeral Consultant, you will work closely with families and the local team to arrange and conduct dignified funeral services. You will play a key role in ensuring services run smoothly while providing empathetic, professional support to families during their time of need. Key responsibilities include: Meeting with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services in line with their wishes Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism and respect Providing exceptional customer service to families, clients, and internal stakeholders Supporting day-to-day operations at the Geelong location Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards Assisting with preparation, coordination, and service delivery as required Contributing to a collaborative and respectful team environment Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing standards in the workplace Must be open to participating in a 1 in 6 weekend on-call roster About You
Essential: Experience in a service-focused setting or ability to quickly learn Current unrestricted driver’s licence Comfortable working in circumstances involving death, grief, and deceased persons Strong communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Sensitivity and respect for diverse values, beliefs, and cultural practices Physically and psychologically fit to manage manual handling, stress, and inherent role requirements Willingness to participate in a 1 in 6 weekend on-call roster Desirable: Exposure to or understanding of the funeral services industry, or willingness to learn Background in hospitality, retail, community services, or other people-focused industries Why Apply?
