- Customer focused Survey Officers to support the Post Census Review —a major national project that helps ensure Census results are accurate The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is seeking motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our Contact Centre team for the Post Census Review (PCR). This national program plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Australia’s Census data. Key Benefits

- Competitive hourly rate of $38.46 plus 15.4% superannuation
- Flexible casual shifts during business hours
- Comprehensive training provided; no prior government experience required
- Suitable for individuals with experience in customer service, call centres, administration, or related fields
- Employment Type: Casual
- Locations : Geelong, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth (considered)
- Engagement Period: From Early September 2026 until end of November 2026
- Hours of Work:
- Shifts available Monday to Sunday, between 7:00am and 11:00pm
- Shift lengths range from 3 to 8 hours
- Overtime rates apply for work after 7:00pm and on weekends
- Availability: A minimum of three shifts per week is preferred
- Eligibility: Australian citizenship is required Role Overview Survey Officers will provide high-quality support to households participating in the Post Census Review. Responsibilities include:
- Responding to inbound telephone enquiries regarding the PCR
- Providing clear and accurate information to assist respondents
- Collecting survey responses over the phone in a professional and impartial manner
- Recording interactions and data accurately using ABS systems This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
