Counsellor Advocate Geelong

Tradewind is partnering with a well-regarded community service in Geelong to support recruitment within their therapeutic services team. Due to growing demand, the organisation is seeking multiple experienced clinicians to join their team in short-term and ongoing capacities. About the Role The Counsellor Advocate provides trauma-informed counselling and support to clients impacted by family violence, sexual assault, and harmful sexual behaviours. The role focuses on short-term counselling (approximately 4–12 sessions) and may also include broader therapeutic and case management support depending on client need. Clients often present with complex trauma, requiring structured, evidence-based interventions. What We're Looking For
- Experience in counselling and trauma-informed practice
- Background supporting family violence and/or sexual assault clients
- Ability to work with complex trauma presentations
- Counsellors, social workers, or psychologists with relevant experience
- Robust transferable skills; depth of clinical practice also considered
- Rapid recruitment process with immediate interviews
- Locum support available initially, with potential for ongoing roles (not guaranteed)
- Based in Geelong with preference for on-site work
- Some work-from-home flexibility may be considered depending on location
- Versatile engagement: EFT (part time to full-time) Salary & Conditions SCHADS Level: $* per hour. Counselling role with adaptable EFT options.
