- Atherton Hotel, 4883 Duties & Responsibilities – Cooks
- Comply with all safety and health policies, procedures and role responsibilities as outlined in the Safety and Health Responsibilities and Accountabilities procedure.
- Maintain a safety‑first mindset, ensuring all tasks are performed safely.
- Follow and stick to all standard operating procedures in daily operations.
- Ensure day‑to‑day working practices follow health and safety policies and the Safety Management System.
- Report employee or patron incidents promptly and accurately.
- Uphold hygiene standards in back‑of‑house operations by following cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Assist with washing up and kitchen cleaning when a kitchen attendant is unavailable. Duties & Responsibilities – Chefs
- Manage day‑to‑day kitchen operations, ensuring business objectives and service standards are achieved.
- Prepare and serve meals to high‑quality standards, maintaining consistency and timeliness.
- Maximise revenue by meeting customer needs and enhancing menu offerings for competitiveness.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment by complying with health and safety policies and promoting a safety‑first culture.
- Oversee stock management, including ordering, receiving, storing, stocktakes and cost control.
- Provide leadership to the kitchen team, fostering teamwork, training staff and monitoring performance.
- Review and implement menu changes to maintain quality and operational efficiency. Qualifications – Cooks
- Food safety certification (preferred, not required).
- Relevant work experience in skilled kitchens. Qualifications – Chefs
- Apprenticeship or vocational training with hands‑on kitchen experience.
- Necessary trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery).
- Current food safety certification, or willingness to obtain one. How you will be rewarded
