Plant Mechanics & Auto Electricians – Site Embedded Roles Hourly rates from $60/hr / Overtime from $90/hr (paid on all hours, incl. allowances) 14/28 lifestyle roster | Days & Nights | Paid fortnightly WesTrac is expanding its site‑embedded maintenance team in the Hunter Valley and is seeking experienced Plant Mechanics and Auto Electricians to support one of the Hunter Valley’s largest mining operations. These are permanent, long‑term onsite roles working exclusively on CAT® mobile plant, backed by the scale, stability and capability of the world’s largest authorised Caterpillar dealer. This is not a contractor churn role. This is a career maintenance position with best‑in‑class tooling, OEM systems, structured development and real lifestyle balance. - Maintain, inspect and repair CAT mobile plant
- Perform OEM‑aligned diagnostics and fault finding
- Planned maintenance, breakdowns and reliability work
- Use up-to-date tooling, systems and CAT diagnostic technology
- Diagnose and repair plant electrical and control systems
- Preventative maintenance to reduce downtime

- Relevant Trade Qualification (Mobile Plant / Auto Electrical)
- Mining or heavy equipment experience (open cut preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding capability
