This is a unique opportunity for a Maintenance Coordinator to join our small team in an autonomous and very rewarding role helping to maintain our beautiful retirement village in Croydon. This role would suit someone with a trade background who likes interacting with people, enjoys a wide-ranging role that is less physically demanding than your typical role in the building/construction space. Your role will involve assisting with the overall maintenance and improvement of facilities and grounds at the Brighton, building effective relationships and delivering positive outcomes for residents. **Day to day this role looks like**:

- Anticipating and performing maintenance, repairs and replacements having consideration for high quality efficiency, economy and safety.
- Reporting maintenance needs to Retirement Village Manager
- Scheduling and carrying out periodic maintenance activities.
- Providing quality service to all residents and customers with respect, dignity and privacy.
- Using initiative, accepting responsibility and organising work efficiently
- Maintaining appropriate documentation and records relating to reactive and preventative maintenance works
- Effectively communicating with residents, customers and significant others
- Attending fire safety in-service training as directed
- Supporting and contributing to quality improvement for maintenance activities
- Acting in accordance with all WH&S; Laws and regulations
- Managing internal and external inspections
- Liaising with maintenance contractors
- Working within a small team assisting as needed including occasionally transporting residents for outings

**To be successful in this role you’ll need**:

- At least one-year experience as a maintenance officer in a comparable role and industry
- Trade Skills highly desirable (but not essential)
- Essential knowledge of the maintenance functions of retirement village (or similar environment)
- Ability to problem solve
- Practical organisational skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently with mínimal supervision
- Digital literacy and ability to learn new software platforms
- Current NSW Driver’s License.
