About us: USVD Consultants Pty Ltd is a recruitment company having office at Bella Vista NSW 2153.

Our client BPF Equipment, 79 Cavan Road, Gipps Cross, South Australia 5094 deals in sales, service and hire of a broad range of construction and heavy earth moving equipment, forklifts, access and hydraulic equipment. They have dealership of brands like Takeuchi, Kanga Loaders, Avant loaders, NiftyLift EWPs, Hangcha forklifts, Manitou etc. The business also provides repair & maintenance services and rental services of equipment to their clients. Due to the business growth and expansion plans, we are now looking to recruit two Fitters on a permanent full-time basis for our client.

Salary: AUD $75,000 - $80,000 base per annum + Super (for a 38-hour work week)

Role purpose: Fitter Workers assembles, install, service, maintain and repair fixed and mobile equipment such as construction equipment (excavator, loader dumper), material handling equipment (forklift) and access equipment (scissor lifts, boom lifts). Including attachments for the wide range of equipment.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

• Service, diagnose and rectify mobile & stationary plant and equipment fleet.
• Read and interpret Engineering drawings, technical specifications and schematics.
• Carry out manual handling of parts, use hand-tool & special tools for precision works.
• Fit various metal parts to fabricate machines
• Measure, compute and plan Engineering tasks using special software from OEM.
• Diagnose, repair, install or remove any engineering component like bearings, hydraulic system, electronic control system / sensors.
• Assemble subassemblies and other metal parts to produce equipment and machines
• Complete all tasks as per supervisor’s written and verbal instructions.
• Complete work safely, ensuring all Safe Work and environmental requirements are being met.
• Diagnose, repair and replace diesel engine, engine cooling system.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure protective clothing is being used when required.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and measuring instruments are correctly calibrated.
• Test/charge, replace or jump start batteries.
• Tag out and notify your manager of any tools or instruments which are not working correctly.
• Ensure work areas and any issued work vehicles and machinery are kept clean and a safe environment is maintained.
• Ensure good time management is kept on all jobs and work carried out
• Update and highlight all major and repeated failures to the Workshop Manager/ Service Supervisor.

AUD $75,000 - $80,000 base per annum + Super (for a 38-hour work week)

Qualification & Licences:
• Trade qualification as Fitter is preferred.
• Current drivers’ licence (Desirable)
• Forklift Licence and Safe Working at Heights (Desirable)

Skills:
• Have a strong adherence OH&S and in keeping as safe workplace.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as required.
• Strong attention to detail with problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong customer service focus.

Experience:
• 5 years plus experience in fitting, service and maintenance equipment.
• Experience as a Fitter working on heavy earth moving and access equipment is preferred.
• Experience speaking with customers and resolving any concerns or issues would be highly regarded.
