Maintenance Fitter (Wingfield)

IWS has been operating for over 50 years, working closely with local councils and communities, being at the forefront of the recycling and waste management industry. An opportunity exists to become the Maintenance Fitter for our industry leading Waste Management business. Duties and responsibilities We are now recruiting for a Maintenance Fitter to join our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be working as part of a tight-knit team in a team dedicated to quality excellence. The position involves hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor belt proactive and break-fix maintenance. You will be based at our Wingfield site, in this full time and permanent position. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing repair and maintenance of equipment ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained
- Work on preventive maintenance schedules, attend breakdowns with a sense of urgency, minimising downtime and implementing continual improvement initiatives
- Prioritise workload to ensure maximum business effectiveness
- identify which tasks are most important and will maximise the production line’s output.
- Initiative and self-motivated; the ability to work both well within a team environment and also independently to resolve equipment and resourcing issues.
- Drive continuous improvement activities on equipment and processes
- Ensure safe work practices are followed in conjunction with IWS policies and procedures What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience working in a Maintenance Fitter position or similar
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving ability
- Trade Qualification as a Fitter or Machinist
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Drivers License
- Forklift License, elevated work platform license highly desirable
