- Airport Lounge Membership Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector South West deposits. Reporting to the Senior Resource Geologist, the Field Assistant will support the Mine Geology, Exploration, and Environmental teams. Responsibilities will include collecting geological and environmental data, conducting core-yard and field activities, performing exploration functions, maintaining control processes and procedures, conducting underground sampling, and monitoring environmental conditions. This role is offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton and surrounding areas. Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assist Geologists to ensure work programs are completed as planned.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, Traditional Owners, Landholders and other Departments.
- Processing diamond core, mark-up and orientation, core cutting, sampling, photography and other related measurements.
- Ensure DDH, RC percussion and air core programs are conducted to company standard, with reference to sampling and QAQC protocols.
- Assist with, underground face sampling, mapping, daily recording of water meters and dewatering pipeline inspections.
- Ensure accurate data capture using our Geological database. About You
- Previous experience as a Field Technician or in farming is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in orienting, cutting and meter-marking diamond core
- Ability to work as part of a small and autonomous team
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and effective analytical and communication abilities.
- Hold a valid WA Driver’s License (manual C Class) and 4WD Certificate.
