Senior / Project Manager – Civil Construction – ASAP …, Gladstone

- Also looking for some business development to bring on more work in the region Outstanding opportunity to work with a well-established and reputable civil contractor on projects such as earthworks, excavation, civil etc. Our client is a well-established and market leading national tier 2 civil contractor, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join their growing business. Our client provides their services across a number of industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, environmental etc. and you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of a couple of challenging projects. Types of projects include bulk earthworks, demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation etc. Typical values from $2.5m to $25m but can go up to $50m+. Ideal candidate will live locally in the Gladstone region and travel between the 2 projects. There will also be opportunities for this person to do business development in the region. Years of experience: 5 to 10 years + Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning and scheduling of construction activities
- Management of site project teams
- Quality Assurance, Cost and Time Management
- Preparation of management reports
- Resolving site issues in a timely manner
- Liaising with key clients and stakeholders
- Coordinating internal and external resources
- Recruitment and mentoring of teams Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
- 5
- 10+ years’ management experience on civil construction projects.
- Project management qualifications will be advantageous
- Proven understanding of construction with a hands‑on approach
- Proven ability to effectively lead and delegate
- Effective problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to resolve conflict and manage client expectations
- High level of organisation and time management skills
