The team works with businesses, community groups and stakeholders to support economic resilience, encourage civic participation and deliver place-based outcomes that enhance community life. About the role You will deliver a centralised Business Concierge service that supports businesses to establish, grow and invest in Monash. Acting as a key liaison between business and Council, you will navigate regulatory complexity, coordinate internal expertise and deliver a seamless, customer-focused experience.
- Provide clear, timely advice on permit pathways and regulatory requirements
- Triage and track enquiries and coordinate responses across key regulatory teams
- Translate complex requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance
- Support smooth, high-quality permit application processes
- Report on outcomes and performance, and drive improvements to systems, processes and digital tools
- Support investment attraction and respond to business and investor enquiries
- Develop accessible resources, insights and tools for business decision-making
- Deliver early-stage business support programs

About you You are a proactive and customer-focused professional who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about supporting business and delivering positive local economic outcomes. Experience in economic development or business-facing regulatory environments, ideally within local government. This role is suited to both economic development professionals or candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas
- Planning, Building, Environmental Health or Community Laws.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and how they apply to business establishment and growth
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, practical and accessible advice Proven project management, analytical and reporting skills
- Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and coordinating stakeholders to deliver outcomes
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trust and strong relationships
- Experience identifying and implementing process or system improvements
- Highly developed communication and facilitation skills, including workshops and business engagement
