Tax Director Are you an experienced senior tax professional ready to take the next step into directorship? You’ll take ownership of the tax department’s strategic direction, lead on complex advisory projects, and work closely with the partners to deliver outstanding client service. The Role As Tax Director, you’ll lead the delivery of all tax services across a diverse and high-value client portfolio. You’ll take responsibility for driving the firm’s tax strategy, ensuring technical excellence, and leading a team of experienced professionals. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the tax department across compliance, advisory, and consultancy services
- Managing a portfolio of high-profile clients, including corporate groups, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals
- Providing advanced tax planning and advisory services, including business restructuring, acquisitions and disposals, succession planning, and share incentive schemes
- Offering strategic guidance on corporate tax, personal tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and R&D; reliefs
- Acting as the key technical lead for complex tax issues and providing solutions to clients and partners
- Driving business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth, and contributing to the firm’s overall strategic plan
- Overseeing and mentoring the tax team to ensure continuous professional development and technical excellence
- Representing the firm externally, enhancing its reputation as a trusted adviser to ambitious businesses
- Ensuring full compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements About You The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute and technically skilled tax leader, with the ability to combine strategic oversight with hands-on advisory delivery. You will:
- Be CTA qualified (ACA/ACCA qualification also beneficial)
- Have significant post-qualification experience within a senior tax role in practice
- Possess deep technical expertise across corporate and personal tax
- Demonstrate proven success in delivering complex tax advisory projects
- Have a robust track record in managing and developing teams
- Be commercially aware, with a talent for identifying and converting business opportunities
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders
- Be highly motivated, proactive, and strategic in your approach Experience in areas such as business restructuring, succession planning, and R&D; claims will be highly regarded.
