About the Opportunity We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Prestons, NSW. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Supervisor, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to build their career in accounting. You will play a key role in supporting month-end processes, financial reporting, and compliance activities, while working closely with a supportive and knowledgeable team. Your responsibilities will include
- Supporting month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Preparing general ledger reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with financial reporting (D reporting and BPC deadlines)
- Supporting tax compliance activities (BAS, FBT, and income tax)
- Assisting with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting
- Contributing to annual budget preparation
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Supporting intercompany reconciliations and finance processes
- Assisting with ad hoc finance tasks and continuous improvement initiatives What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who is curious, organised, and eager to grow within a supportive finance team environment. You will ideally bring
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting (or working towards one)
- Progress towards CA or CPA (or interest in pursuing)
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Confidence using Excel and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
