About The Opportunity

As the NPD Project Engineer, you’ll work across recent and existing product development, with a focus on electronic and electrical systems. You’ll support testing, debugging, compliance, supplier engagement, manufacturing and continuous improvement while owning NPD deliverables. This role blends technical engineering with practical product implementation across residential, commercial and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

You’ll be part of a local Somersby engineering team and will:

Work across the full lifecycle of physical products from concept and design through testing, debugging, compliance, supplier engagement, manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales, service and external partners—to turn product requirements into practical engineering outcomes.

Ensure products meet performance, regulatory, cost, timing and quality expectations and actually function in the real world.

Manage NPD project deliverables and support sustaining projects.

Qualifications

You’re an electrical, electronic or mechatronic engineer who enjoys product development and has:

Extensive NPD experience, with hands‑on work in design, testing, debugging and compliance.

Background in electronics, smart devices, IoT, appliances, industrial or consumer products, or a related physical product workplace.

Experience managing external design partners, suppliers, manufacturers and compliance standards across full lifecycle projects.

A strong technical base, practical mindset and ability to collaborate across teams.
