Group Engineering Manager
- Panel Manufacturing Permanent As our Group Engineering Manager, you will be a pivotal figure in our senior management team, responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations across multiple sites. This role will form a key part of our recent Centre of Advanced Manufacturing Excellence which will provide support to our major manufacturing facilities throughout the country. You will set the strategic engineering direction, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians across multiple large scale manufacturing sites. Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership and Team Management:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing group of engineering managers and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:Determine and implement engineering strategies, policies, and plans that align with the company's overall business objectives.
- Process Optimisation and Continuous Improvement:Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality and safety standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:Liaise effectively with R&D;, production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operational transitions and product industrialisation.
- Risk Management and Compliance:Ensure all engineering operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards, implementing robust governance and risk mitigation frameworks. About You You are a seasoned engineering professional with a proven track record in a leadership role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field is preferred).
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in a manufacturing/industrial environment, with significant experience in a managerial or leadership position.
- Experience in the Timber- and Panel manufacturing industry would be an advantage.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. What We Offer
