- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes, with a focus on North Indian and Himachali-inspired cuisine offered by the restaurant.
- Follow established recipes while also adjusting seasoning, portion sizes, and presentation to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Assist in planning menus by contributing ideas for new dishes, specials, and seasonal offerings that align with customer preferences and business needs.
- Ensure all ingredients are prepared in advance, including marinating meats, chopping vegetables, and preparing spice blends and sauces used in daily service.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes during service to ensure meals are delivered promptly and meet quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, including proper storage of ingredients and adherence to food safety requirements.
- Check the freshness and quality of raw materials, ensuring only suitable ingredients are used in food preparation.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure productive service and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with stock control by monitoring inventory levels, notifying management of shortages, and helping with stock rotation practices.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including safe handling of food and kitchen equipment.
- Support senior kitchen staff in maintaining smooth day-to-day kitchen operations during busy service periods.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and productive kitchen environment by following workplace procedures and communicating effectively with team members. Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma level qualification is required.
