Analytical Chemist / Technician (Natural Products & Chromatography) Highland Mushrooms LLC is seeking a motivated Analytical Technician to support research, development, and quality analysis of fungal, especially Mushroom-derived bioactive compounds. Key Responsibilities
- Utilise sophisticated analytical techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) to analyse and characterise various compounds.
- Prepare samples, standards, mobile phases and conduct routine chromatographic analyses.
- Optimise and validate analytical methods tailored for natural products.
- Demonstrate proficiency in data processing and analysis, including integration and report generation.
- Expertise in extracting and purifying compounds from natural sources.
- Maintain precise laboratory records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality documentation.
- Assist in scale‑up studies while collaborating with research partners and external laboratories.
- Maintain lab equipment according to Positive Laboratory Practices (GLP), investigate abnormal results in collaboration with a senior scientist, and ensure calibration of instruments as per the schedule.
- Adhere to safety and environmental protocols, keep the work area clean, and maintain well‑organised documentation. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an analytical laboratory role.
- Familiarity with the extraction and separation of compounds.
- Proficient use of advanced software for data analysis and instrument management.
- Hands‑on experience with HPLC or UHPLC (method execution and troubleshooting).
- Solid attention to detail, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote collaborators. Preferred (but not mandatory)
- Exposure to LC–MS or working with external MS facilities.
