**Join Banyule City Council as an Assistant Building Surveyor.**

Are you passionate about building safety, compliance, and community service? Banyule City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Building Surveyor to join our award-winning organisation, renowned for its customer-focused culture, innovation, and commitment to continuous improvement.

**About the role and what you’ll do**

Banyule Bpi is uniquely placed by delivering both Statutory functions for Banyule Council Municipality and also offers a Building permit service to Banyule residents as well as surrounding suburbs. This enables team members to be exposed to all facets of the Building Surveying profession, encouraging growth, continuous improvement, learning and upskilling. In this diverse role you’ll:

- provide support to the Municipal Building Surveyor in providing an effective Building enforcement and Building permit service.
- provide information and assistance to members of the community in regard to policies and legislation, including Building Control responsibilities of Council and Building Regulations.
- consistently contribute to the building team in all aspects of both statutory and permit functions and positive customer service outcomes.

**About you**(what you'll bring/what we are looking for)

- Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying (Bachelor degree or Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying) or currently undertaking.
- Previous experience with building surveying/inspections.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of people with varying social and economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work in a busy team environment, as well as independently.

**Pre-employment requirements**

- Driver's Licence
