Case Manager
- Middle School / High School Job ID: 1056 Position Type: Student Support Services Date Posted: 5/21/2026 Location: Griffith High School Date Available: August 2026 Immediate Supervisor: Director of Special Education / School Principal Terms of Employment: 195 Days FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary The case manager will advocate for students, design, and implement high quality IEPs that effectively catalog student needs with clear objectives and outcomes in a timely manner. The case manager will be responsible for monitoring student progress, related services, program compliance, and participate in the review and revisions of IEPs as appropriate. The position will require the ability to assist other skilled staff in the identification of learning disabilities, development of planned remediation, and the evaluation of student progress. It is the responsibility of the case manager to develop a positive relationship with the student and their family for the purpose of creating support for the student and his/her growth. The Case Manager also needs to be able to clearly and accurately communicate with administrators, colleagues, and parents to improve outcomes for all students. Essential Duties
- Possess an understanding of state and federal special education law.
- Maintain confidentiality according to state guidelines.
- Assure compliance with procedural requirements.
- Exhibit professionalism, leadership, and personal responsibility for daily work, attendance, personal appearance, student learning, and school success.
- Make positive contributions to the school community.
- Knowledge of data‑driven instruction practices.
- Strong technology skills.
- Ensure all IDEA and Article 7 timelines are met.
- Coordinate all referrals with school psychologists and assign speech‑related services to evaluate students.
- Write IEPs under direct supervision of the principal, director of SPED, and federal grants.
- Assist principal with discipline, training, and building organization.
- Assist in diagnostic testing as assigned by the school psychologist.
- Assist in the development and support of building SPED programs.
- Responsible for assisting in evaluation. Qualifications
- Have an Indiana license in Special Education.
- At least 5 years' experience in Special Education.
- Two years of experience with writing and implementing IEPs.
- Experience as a case manager is preferred. Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Occasional stooping, bending and reaching.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work is generally performed indoors.
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non‑prescribed controlled substances in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
