Cook/Chef (Gungahlin)

About the role Friends & Momos is seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join our team in our Gungahlin, ACT location. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen. - Preparing a variety of meals and dishes to meet customer orders and dietary requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organized and efficient kitchen environment
- Assisting with menu planning and development
- Support the business in designing menus and creating innovative dishes
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and consistency
- Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor food costs
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations
- Work collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service What we're looking for
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cook or Chef
- Solid understanding of food safety and WHS standards
- Solid knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety standards
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality meals
