About The Role
Our Fitters help keep things moving underground, maintaining equipment so production can continue safely and efficiently.
We’re after 1 x Fitter to join the team on a mid-week backshift, rotating between afternoon and night shifts.
This role is based in Narrabri, NSW and is available on a residential or DIDO basis (Temporary camp for up to 3 months while you find a room share/rental), OR with relocation assistance on offer. It’s a great opportunity to make a move to a welcoming regional community and enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance work on underground mining equipment
- Maintain plant availability through inspections, fault finding, diagnosis and remediation actions.
- Report on defects and update maintenance and production logs
- Complete planned and routine maintenance as per schedule.
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability. What You’ll Bring
- Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification Minimum 12-months experience working in an underground mine
- Experience working on mining or heavy earthmoving machinery
- Ability to work rotating shifts – day, night and afternoon
- Ability to meet clean-shaven requirements in line with underground coal mining respiratory safety standards. Why Whitehaven Coal?
