Mobile Plant Apprenticeship What you’ll be doing… Ready to kick-start a hands-on career in the mining and mechanical industry? This is your opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications while working alongside experienced tradespeople in a dynamic mining environment starting late 2026. As a Mobile Plant Apprentice, you’ll complete a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our host employer, Boggabri Coal. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to:
- Carry out fault finding, servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy mining equipment and vehicles.
- Work within a large-scale open cut mining environment.
- Learn to safely use hand tools, battery-operated tools and specialised trade equipment.
- Work alongside and learn from qualified tradespeople and industry professionals.
- Develop valuable technical skills and real-world industry experience.
- Perform duties within the scope of your training, skills and competence. What you’ll bring to the table… To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Commitment to both on and off-the-job training.
- Strong willingness to learn, grow and develop new skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to completing the full term of the apprenticeship and study requirements.
- A strong understanding of workplace safety and safe work practices.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic. Mandatory Requirements
- Current driver’s licence.
