Industrial Designer Hallam

We are looking for an energetic designer / engineer to join our team to work alongside our production staff and lead industrial designer.

Ultimo Engineering and Laser Cutting is a metal fabrication company based in Hallam, Victoria, who specialise in metal fabrication, sheet metal, laser cutting, CNC press brake folding, welding, machining, and more.

Primarily the role will be assisting the team with design, engineering, production drawings, estimation, and creative problem solving on job shop work for our clients on transport, mining, agriculture, architectural, and general fabrication projects.

The role extends to creative product development for our rapidly expanding passion project, Heeler Trays, designing and manufacturing Ute trays and canopies, and other 4x4 and camping accessories.

We’re a small team doing big things, so we’re hunting for someone with the right skills who is keen to grow with us and make some cool stuff along the way.

Requirements:

2+ years experience in manufacturing design / engineering role (Sheet metal / metal fabrication industry preferred)

Qualification in Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering, Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.

Proficient in Solidworks or similar parametric 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor or Fusion 360)

Ability to cleanly 3D model in a top down method with multibody part files

Basic understanding of sheet metal bending principals

Proficient with Microsoft office and basic skills with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc)

Basic sketching / hand drawing skills for the purpose of quick idea communication

Ability to generate logical work instructions and production drawings

Excellent English communication and writing skills

Robust attention to detail and pride in your own work

Experienced multitasking in a rapid paced team workplace, but also autonomously working solo

A personal desire and passion for continuous improvement

Pay: $70,000.00
- $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

8 hour shift
