Disability Support Worker- Hallam Vic

My Better Care is seeking a positive and dynamic support worker who is available to provide general support in the Hallam region.

My Better Care is a growing independent NDIS service provider that covers Melbourne and Surrounds, South Eastern Suburbs. In this role, you will be providing active support to people with disabilities, within their homes and out in the community, to build up their capacity for independence. It is essential for you to understand that your client will be supported with person-centered approach while be respectful of their culture, privacy, and dignity.

**Potential responsibilities may include**:

- Companionship.
- Personal care tasks, such as showering, grooming, dressing and undressing,
- Assistance with medical appointments and grocery shopping
- Community support
- going shopping, parks, museums, and other activities with participants. Assistance with community access, recreational and social activities
- Light exercise, such as walks.
- Local transport and getting around.
- Assistance with domestic household tasks

**Requirements**:

- Experience supporting people with mental health issues and/or trauma-informed practice will be highly regarded.
- Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support or Equivalent
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s License and comprehensive car insurance.
- MUST hold a current First aid certificate, CPR and work with Children Check
- NDIS worker Screening Check or willing to obtain one
- NDIS woker orientation module
- All support workers are independent contractors, so you must have your own Australian Business Number (ABN) and Bank Account.
- Police check (less than 6 months old)
- 2 qualified reference checks
- Full COVID vaccination record

Pay: $35.00
- $40.00 per hour
