Placed.au is looking for a full time ICT Support Technician for our client in Hamilton, Victoria. This role is responsible for responding to user ICT enquiries, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing technical support and configuration services across a range of IT environments including schools and client premises. Job Description
- Respond to user enquiries regarding a variety of ICT issues, such as hardware malfunctions, software errors, and network connectivity problems.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to users to resolve technical problems as needed.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues such as computer malfunctions, peripheral equipment failures, and others.
- Utilise diagnostic tools and utilities to pinpoint the cause of technical problems.
- Install new hardware components to organisational standards as needed.
- Configure hardware and software settings to meet user requirements and ensure performance.
- Perform software installations and updates, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of hardware and software configurations.
- Document all user-reported issues, troubleshooting steps taken, and resolutions implemented.
- Assist with the implementation of new IT policies and procedures, ensuring user awareness and adoption.
- Assist with installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting hardware, software, databases, and networks at schools.
- Understand simple to complex technical issues at schools related to school learning management systems, student databases including data structures, naming conventions and resolve them as per the guidelines.
- Monitor and resolve network issues related to DHCP, DNS and Active Directory services.
- Perform the maintenance of backups, upgrades and recovery procedures for computers, servers, databases, and information systems as a part of the data and information security guidelines.
- Install configure and troubleshoot CCTV and IP phone systems when needed.
- Monitor and audit the hardware, servers and user computers and devices at client premises to ensure the smooth functionality of them and to provide assessments and recommendations for future upgrades.
- Configuring and utilizing Device Management solutions to manage, troubleshoot, and upgrade the client devices. Qualifications / Attributes
- Must hold a Diploma of Information Technology or a relevant Diploma in an IT-related field, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- Must possess at least three (3) years of relevant work experience as an ICT Support Technician or in a similar IT support role.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues across a range of ICT environments.
- Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and network infrastructure management.
- Experience with device management solutions, backup and recovery procedures, and IT security practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
