Pathology Collector Reliever (Hamilton)

As a Hospital Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will be reporting to the Hospital Collector Lead and working in a team across all wards including Paediatrics, Medical, ICU, CCU, Emergency, Oncology, Special Care Nursery, Maternity and Rehabilitation, using your empathy and drive to deliver great customer service and quality healthcare. What You Will Be Doing
- Liaising & building effective relationships with a range of different stakeholders within the hospital including doctors, nurses and patients
- Advanced Pathology Collection – collecting samples (blood and non-blood) across different wards and areas including Paediatrics, difficult bleeds and AGBs with care and attention
- Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector. You could currently work in a hospital or a clinic and be looking to diversify and grow your career, or you could be a Registered Nurse looking to swap overnight work for regular daytime shifts. You will be a great communicator and relationship builder, professional, proactive, and willing to go above and beyond to provide quality patient care.
- A demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy, ideally with a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or a nursing background
- Excellent liaison and communication skills, with a high level of empathy and a patient‑centred approach
- Organised, with high attention to detail
- Hold a Working With Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work Vaccination Requirements
- Vaccine‑preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement for this role
