About the role EDU is seeking a senior & specialised candidate to join our Sydney Quality Assurance Team in a newly created position of Enterprise Risk Manager. You will be ultimately responsible for design, implementation, operation & continuous maturity of enterprise-wide risk management across EDU Holdings & its regulated education subsidiaries:

- Australian Learning Group (Vocational Education – ASQA‑regulated) Operating within a complex and highly regulated environment, this role ensures that corporate, regulatory, compliance, and operational risks are proactively identified, managed, and reported in line with ASX governance expectations, tertiary education regulatory frameworks, and international education legislative requirements. Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, the role acts as a trusted risk adviser to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors of EDU Holdings Limited and of the operating subsidiaries. In this role you will lead the risk committees, support sustainable growth, have regard to sound risk-adjusted decision‑making and protection of the Group’s regulatory licences to operate. This role requires a practitioner with demonstrated experience in managing risk, ideally within ASX‑listed environments, coupled with familiarity with education compliance frameworks, including TEQSA, ASQA, the ESOS Act, and National Code obligations, particularly in organisations with a significant international student cohort. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Risk Framework & Governance
- Lead the development, implementation, operation and continuous improvement of enterprise risk management frameworks across EDU Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries, aligned to ASX Corporate Governance Principles, TEQSA, ASQA and other relevant regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Ensure enterprise risk management meets the expectations of an ASX-listed parent entity, including clear articulation of material risks, risk appetite, and controls.
- Design, maintain and operationalise the Group’s risk appetite statements, risk registers and other risk systems, ensuring alignment with Board delegations, and strategic planning and decisions.
- Ensure appropriate alignment and integration of corporate (ASX-listed) regulatory and compliance risks across higher education and vocational education contexts. Regulatory, Compliance & Education Risk
- Assist in providing expert oversight and advice on regulatory compliance risk, including:
- TEQSA legislative and registration requirements (Higher Education)
- ASQA Standards and RTO compliance obligations (VET)
- ESOS Act, National Code, and CRICOS-related obligations
- Assist in monitoring changes to education legislations, regulatory guidance, and agency expectations, assessing impacts on the Group’s and its subsidiaries risk profile.
- Partner with quality assurance, compliance and academic leaders to ensure regulatory risks are identified and reported coherently to management and governance.
- Assist with support for regulatory audits, requests for information, and risk and compliance reviews. Executive Advisory & Risk Partnering
- Act as the primary risk adviser to the Executive Leadership team and other senior leaders across the Group.
- Facilitate structured risk conversations and reviews with stakeholders that balance regulatory compliance, commercial objectives and student outcomes.
- Embed risk considerations into strategic initiatives, growth and transformation strategies, and organisational change. Risk Identification & Reporting
- Facilitate enterprise‑wide and business-unit-level risk assessments, ensuring consistency, accountability and clear ownership.
- Identify emerging, systemic and horizon risks across the enterprise, and ensure risks are appropriately documented in the risk register.
- Lead. prepare and coordinate enterprise risk reporting to the various relevant risk committees in the Group
- Deliver clear, concise and meaningful insights to the Executive Leadership Team, and operational risk committee. Systems, Capability & Culture
- Lead the design, implementation and ongoing optimisation of an enterprise risk management system as a single source of truth.
- Strengthen risk capability across the organisation through facilitating pragmatic training, guidance and coaching.
- Work closely with risk owners to shift risk management from a compliance-driven activity to an embedded, value-adding organisational capability. Business Continuity & Resilience
- Maintain, test and mature the Group’s and its subsidiaries' business continuity and crisis management frameworks.
- Support organisation-wide resilience in the face of disruption, regulatory intervention or reputational events. Education, Experience & Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in risk management, governance, business, finance, law or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building, embedding and improving enterprise risk management frameworks
- Proven, hands-on experience in managing regulatory and compliance risk in the higher education sector
- Strong experience in preparing effective risk reporting for Boards, Audit & Risk Committees, and senior Executives. ASX experience desirable but not essential.
- Experience operating across multi-entity or group structures with differing regulatory regimes is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk concepts into practical business insights.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
- Highly organised, with the ability to thrive in a fast paced and evolving environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
