Assistant Accountant (Haymarket)

Rural Funds Management (RFM) is seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in our inner-city Sydney office. In this role, you’ll support qualified Accountants, learn from highly experienced Finance professionals, and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial information across the RFM group. Key responsibilities Working closely with Accountants and Senior Accountants, you will:

- Post journals and complete monthly reconciliations
- Reconcile accounts across RFM entities
- Respond to queries from a variety of stakeholders
- Liaise with operational staff on accounting matters
- Communicate with the Trustee regarding fund transfers
- Support the preparation of monthly reporting and financial analysis
- Assist with annual budgets
- Contribute to statutory accounts and taxation processes
- Provide support to the bookkeepers when required Requirements We’re seeking an enthusiastic and detail focused team member who enjoys working in a hands-on environment. You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting
- CA/CPA studies underway (or willingness to start)
- Solid technical accounting knowledge (Australian Accounting Standards)
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
- The ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Around two years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant, Graduate Accountant or Finance Officer role
- A proactive, positive approach
- Experience in, or exposure to agriculture is highly regarded Benefits
