About the Role International Education and Partnerships Division (IEPD) leads global learning and engagement for the department and works with schools to offer programs to connect students with the world. The Finance and Business Support Unit (FBSU), manages critical financial functions of the IEPD. These include:
- Financial and accounting operations of the IEPD, including the collection and disbursement of overseas student fees
- Development and review policies and processes that support effective and effective administration of international student programs
- Development and implementation of strategies to ensure the ongoing financial sustainability of the International Student Program (ISP) Working as part of the finance team, the purpose of this role is to contribute to processing a high volume of financial transactions for the International Student Program in accordance with the Department's legislative responsibilities as a Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider and process other Divisional financial transactions. The role requires working closely with key stakeholders, particularly government schools and parents in relation to the collection, disbursement and refund of international student fees, and the management of student records. This role is also responsible for daily banking, accounts payable, education agent's commission, month-end journals and support for year-end accounting. The successful candidate will need to contribute to managing change, process and policy improvement and managing operational workflows in a high-volume context and an understanding of financial transactions and operations will be well regarded. All International Education Division staff must hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC) for employment.
