Our Technical Services team sits within the Technology division at Auto & General, responsible for delivering and maintaining the critical infrastructure that powers our business. From on-premise environments to hybrid cloud platforms, the team keeps our systems performant, secure, and future-ready. The role:
As a Platform Engineer, you'll contribute to the operation and continuous improvement of our Citrix Cloud DaaS infrastructure and end-user VMs, supporting the reliability, stability, and security of critical platforms. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll grow your technical expertise, contribute to improvement initiatives, and play an important role in keeping our platforms running at their best.
- Support platform performance, stability, and security — taking ownership of your work and delivering quality outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance platform reliability, scalability, and efficiency
- Participate in technical planning discussions and contribute ideas to roadmap initiatives
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to support the automation of deployment and maintenance processes
- Assist with cloud migration activities and contribute to the evaluation of emerging technologies
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to help proactively identify and resolve issues
- Provide technical support and guidance to Technology teams across the business
- Ensure adherence to security policies, industry standards, and regulations
- Share knowledge with team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the Infrastructure Technology knowledge base What experience you'll bring:
- 2+ years of experience in system administration, operations, support, or solutions implementation
- Solid working knowledge of Citrix Cloud — this is a must-have for the role
- Administration skills across 3 or more of the following technologies: Microsoft (Active Directory, SQL Server, Windows Server, WSUS), VMware vSphere, NetApp Storage, Google Workspace, SCCM/SOE Development, enterprise backup systems (Cohesity/NetBackup or equivalent), systems automation and scripting (Windows), enterprise monitoring suites (SolarWinds, New Relic or equivalent), Microsoft Office 365 Administration, security platforms (CrowdStrike, CyberArk, Okta or equivalent), or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Good stakeholder communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Familiarity with waterfall and/or agile project management frameworks
- Industry-recognised certifications such as Microsoft MCSA or AWS Cloud Practitioner (highly regarded)
- Experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and GitLab (advantageous)
- Security training or certifications (advantageous)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in conjunction with experience Location
