We are seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Controller – Operations & Reporting to take ownership of our internal finance function while also supporting a select portfolio of external clients. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys both technical finance and operational involvement — a person who is commercially aware, systems-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve. You will work closely with the Manager – Partnered Accounting Services (PAS), and be supported by two Assistant Accountants and a dedicated Payroll Officer within a team-oriented PAS team of approximately 6–7 staff. The Opportunity This role is primarily responsible for the integrity and performance of Giuntabell’s internal finance operations, including reporting, compliance, budgeting, month-end close and financial management. In addition, the successful candidate will oversee a small portfolio of client entities, supporting reporting, compliance and operational finance outcomes. - Lead and manage month-end close processes and reporting timelines
- Maintain strong close discipline using FloQast EOM close management software
- Prepare monthly management reports, analysis and financial insights
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management activities
- Assist leadership with financial planning and operational reporting
- Maintain integrity of financial records and reporting processes Compliance & Statutory Reporting
- Manage statutory reporting obligations including:
- GST
- IAS/BAS
- Payroll Tax
- WorkCover
- FBT
- and other compliance requirements
- Prepare financial accounts for external tax accountants
- Liaise with external accountants and advisors during year-end processes Client Portfolio Responsibilities
- Manage a small portfolio of client entities
- Support reporting, compliance and operational finance requirements
- Work collaboratively with clients, funders and stakeholders
- Assist with funding-related reporting and financial accountability Systems, Process & Operational Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and workflows
- Work collaboratively with our SAS systems team (Sage Intacct partner)
- Operate confidently within technology-enabled finance environments
- Support finance process maturity, automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Embrace emerging finance technologies, including AI-enabled tools where appropriate Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the CFO / Manager – PAS
- Collaborate with Assistant Accountants and Payroll team members

- CA or CPA qualification (mandatory)
- Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar role
- Strong financial and management reporting capability
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes
- Experience with Xero, Sage Intacct or similar finance systems
- Exposure to ERP or integrated finance environments
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Experience within the NFP sector highly regarded
