Description
This role is responsible for analysing all product lines managed by the Product Division conform to legislative and regulatory requirements, and assisting implementing changes mandated by regulatory or industry bodies. The role will assist coordination of the Product Division’s responses to changes in legislation or regulation. The role will be required to monitor current and future regulatory changes to the product, and to work to coordinate SMEs within the Product Division, project delivery and IT teams. They will provide ongoing support to other Divisions, and work closely with the broader Product team and other stakeholders to develop and implement the strategies and solutions that meet the current and future needs of the business.

**The role**

The role will assist coordination of the Product Division’s responses to changes in legislation or regulation.

The role will be required to monitor current and future regulatory changes to the product, and to work to coordinate SMEs within the Product Division, project delivery and IT teams. They will provide ongoing support to other Divisions and work closely with the broader Product team and other stakeholders to develop and implement the strategies and solutions that meet the current and future needs of the business.

**Position Accountabilities**
- Monitoring and analysing Australian insurance legislative and regulatory trends.
- Providing timeline updates for required implementation of improvements.
- Coordinate and work with Product SMEs to complete work pertaining to regulatory improvements.
- Help to build a strong risk and data-driven culture in Product.
- Assist with compilation of management reporting packs and Board papers.
- Ensure that, where possible, the same processes are followed by all product streams, to improve audit capability and easier implementation.
- Work with SMEs and business analysts to compile the requirements for compliance-related changes.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects and the performance of new products, assisting with post-implementation reviews.
- Assist in product and documentation development and assessment.
- Take all reasonable directions from leaders to comply with the organisation’s workplace health & safety (WHS) protocols. WHS is everyone’s responsibility.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- 3+ years General Insurance product/ portfolio management, underwriting and/or claim experience; experience with Motor, Travel or Domestic property insurance products will be highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (preferred), e.g. business administration, economics, commerce, finance, mathematics, etc. and/or professional qualification (e.g. ANZIIF) preferred.
- Experience with compliance and regulatory matters.
- Knowledge and experience with short-tail insurance product(s), underwriting and rating methods, systems and procedures
- including drivers and levers of profitable growth.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant regulatory regimes, compliance and legislation covering insurance
- including regulatory change.
- Well-developed and demonstrated understanding of the legislative, regulatory and compliance obligations to operate in the FSR workplace.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems with data.
- Strong relationship and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organisation across a wide variety of stakeholders, including IT, Finance, Operations, Data Teams.
