Compare The Market is searching for an Engineering Manager to lead and support our team of Software Engineers & Testers. Your role involves guiding, inspiring, and empowering the team, focusing on recruitment, retention, and capability improvements.

Collaborating with Engineering leaders, you'll establish and enforce development and testing standards, driving efficiency and excellence. Your expertise will streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and lead innovation initiatives, pushing our capabilities to current heights.

**Main duties and responsibilities**: In this crucial role, you’ll play a pivotal role in our continued success by:

- Provide effective leadership and management for a diverse team of Engineers & Testers
- Define and enforce comprehensive development and testing standards and best practices to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Optimise and meticulously track engineering workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity across projects and initiatives.
- Take charge of leading the technical components of various initiatives and projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
- Collaborate closely with IT leaders to streamline technology maintenance, enhancements, and various delivery processes for maximum effectiveness.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with development and testing activities to minimise potential disruptions.
- Uphold operational excellence by focusing on systems reliability and performance, implementing measures to ensure continuous improvement.

**About you**: As our Engineering Manager, you are a dynamic individual who embodies a wealth of experience and expertise in leading and managing software engineering and testing functions. You are someone who exudes enthusiasm for modern software engineering and testing standards, methodologies, and cutting-edge tooling. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills are paramount, enabling seamless collaboration and fostering a cohesive team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Extensive experience leading and managing software engineering and testing functions.
- Proven track record of successfully mentoring and developing high-performance teams.
- Mastery of modern software engineering and testing standards, methodologies, and tooling.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration.
- Adept at identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with IT software engineering and testing.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and adept problem-solving abilities.
