**The role**

The Risk Remediation Assurance Manager is a member of the A&G; Risk Remediation Project Management Office (RRP PMO) delivering a significant program of improvement across the group to uplift risk practices and risk culture to further position A&G; for growth. This role will ensure that deliverables and outcomes meet the needs of A&G;’s customers, people and business as well as those of external stakeholders.

This is an exciting role in a significant program of work that will assist in shaping A&G;’s approach to risk management, as a key enabler to the strategic aspirations of A&G.; The role will interact closely with all members of the business in reviewing and challenging the design and execution of program initiatives and deliverables. This role will provide assurance and therefore confidence to workstream sponsors (being the CEOs and Executives of the businesses), workstream project leaders and other stakeholders across the A&G; group that the risk management practices and culture outcomes of the program are a strong and sustainable foundation that will enable A&G;’s strategic objectives to be realised.

**Role And Responsibilities**
- Establish an assurance approach and criteria that can be applied consistently throughout the project lifecycle. This includes timelines for reviews and the methodologies to be used for review and challenge, validation, testing and assessment of artefacts and outcomes.
- Identify potential risks to quality and develop strategies to mitigate them. This proactive approach helps prevent issues before they arise.
- Responsible for pre-vet validation of workstream closure deliverables prior to submission to the independent assurance expert, to ensure they meet the established quality and outcome standards. This includes checking for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with related initiatives.
- When quality issues are identified, work with the relevant team members to address them, which may involve suggesting improvements, providing feedback, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide regular reports on the quality status of project artefacts to the RRP PMO and other stakeholders. This includes highlighting any areas of concern and the progress of quality improvement efforts.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the RRP program by regularly reviewing and refining the assurance approach where needed to address feedback.

**Qualifications, Experience & Skills**

The experience required for this role includes:

- At least five years experience in risk management, assurance or audit in a complex financial services institution regulated by APRA with proven stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred previous experience in delivering or performing an assurance role for a large, complex risk management remediation program.
- Proven experience in establishing quality criteria and metrics for project artefacts, setting standards and assessing against such standards for documentation and outcomes.
- Expertise in pre-vetting workstream closure deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards, with a particular focus on meeting the substance and intent of closure criteria before submission to independent assurance experts.
- Skilled in identifying quality issues, providing feedback, suggesting improvements, and working with teams collaboratively to design and implement corrective actions within tight project timeframes.
- Ability to identify potential quality risks and/or complexities across workstreams and develop strategies to mitigate them, taking a proactive approach to prevent issues.
- Strong ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing and refining the assurance approach as needed.
