About The Role In accordance with legal and statutory requirements, assist the Commissioner for Children and Young People by contributing to the provision of high-level strategic advice on a broad range of issues pertaining to the promotion and protection of the rights of children and young people in Tasmania. The incumbent will support the Commissioner to engage with a range of stakeholders, including government, the community sector and children and young people. We are offering

- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment.
- The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted. 1 Conviction Checks In The Following Areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- serious traffic offences 2 Identification check 3 Disciplinary actions in previous employment check Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in law, child welfare, psychology, education or similar will be regarded highly. Please note: The cost associated with obtaining a RWVP is the responsibility of the individual. Statement of Duties and a reference guide to assist with applying online
