Description
Merchandising & Maintenance Technician (Field-Based – Solo Role) ???? Hobart, TAS ???? Full-time, Monday–Friday ???? Company vehicle provided (work & commuting) ???? Competitive salary + super The Role This is not a standard retail merchandising role. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you will be the sole operator for Tasmania, managing all machines across the state. You’ll be responsible for keeping machines stocked, well presented, and working properly day-to-day—while operating independently in the field and staying closely connected to a remote operations team. ???? If you prefer team-based environments or constant on-site support, this role won’t be the right fit. ???? If you’re organised, self-directed, practical, and comfortable working independently while staying connected remotely, this is a strong fit. What You’ll Be Doing
- Travelling across Hobart and surrounding areas in a company van
- Restocking machines and maintaining strong retail presentation standards
- Identifying issues and fixing common problems on the spot using basic tools
- Troubleshooting faults and applying practical fixes (training provided, but hands-on confidence is essential)
- Managing your own daily runs and prioritising work effectively
- Keeping clear digital records of servicing, stock, and issues
- Communicating regularly with the interstate operations team
- Supporting light warehouse and stock coordination tasks as required What This Role Is Like
- You’ll be the only on-the-ground operator in Tasmania, supporting your own territory
- You’ll work independently every day, without direct local supervision
- You’ll be expected to organise your time, plan your runs, and stay on top of all sites
- You’ll need to fix what you can yourself and escalate when needed
- You’ll stay connected through regular calls, messages, and digital reporting
- The role includes occasional overnight travel within TAS What We’re Looking For
- Highly organised — you can manage your own schedule and stay on top of multiple sites
- Independent and self-motivated — comfortable working alone day-to-day
- Practical and hands-on — confident using basic tools and fixing issues
- Problem-solver — you take initiative and work things out in the field
- Detail-focused — you take pride in presentation and consistency
- Strong communicator — you stay connected and keep the team informed remotely Ideal background (not essential):
- Field merchandising, retail operations, field service, logistics, or similar roles
- Any experience where you’ve worked independently and handled both presentation and problem-solving responsibilities
- Experience using tools or maintaining equipment You don’t need industry experience, but you must be comfortable working with tools, solving problems, and managing your workload independently. What’s On Offer
- Company van for work and commuting
- Competitive salary + superannuation
- Full training and structured onboarding
- A high-ownership role with real responsibility
- Support from a national operations team
- Reliable Monday–Friday hours Requirements
- Full Australian work rights
- Full, valid driver’s licence
- Availability for full-time weekday work
- Willingness to travel across Tasmania as required
- Ability to travel to Melbourne for your first week of onboarding and training (company funded) Apply Now If you’re looking for a hands-on, independent role where you’ll take full ownership of operations in your state—balancing merchandising standards with practical problem-solving—we’d like to hear from you.
