Quality and Training Coordinator - Inpatient Services Unit …, Hobart

The Team The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) plays a critical role in supporting patient flow and the efficient delivery of care across the Royal Hobart Hospital. The Inpatient Services Unit (IPSU) is a key part of this function, providing essential administrative and clerical support that underpins safe, timely, and effective hospital operations. Working as part of a broader multidisciplinary environment, the Inpatient Services Unit collaborates closely with clinical, non-clinical, and operational teams to ensure accurate information management, coordinated patient journeys, and responsive service delivery. The team is focused on continuous improvement, data quality, and maintaining high standards that directly contribute to better outcomes for patients and the Tasmanian community. The Role The Quality and Training Coordinator is responsible for supporting training, onboarding, and quality assurance activities for clerical staff within the Inpatient Services Unit. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining and improving service standards by:

- Supporting day-to-day quality control activities and ensuring service delivery standards and objectives are consistently understood and achieved
- Delivering training, education, and onboarding for staff, ensuring alignment with policies, procedures, and business processes
- Providing expert advice to staff on data collection, documentation processes, and quality requirements
- Undertaking quality assurance activities to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve data accuracy and operational practices
- Preparing reports and contributing to service improvement initiatives to enhance patient flow and administrative efficiency
- Supporting change management activities and implementation of process improvements across the service
- Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical, non-clinical, management, and finance teams

This role operates with a degree of autonomy under the direction of the Manager, Inpatient Services Unit, and requires strong judgement, initiative, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will need To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of strong communication, analytical thinking, and a passion for improving systems and supporting others to succeed. You will demonstrate:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and confidently engage with a broad range of stakeholders across clinical, non-clinical, and management teams

- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills, particularly in relation to data accuracy, documentation processes, and compliance with standards
- Adaptability and a proactive mindset, with a willingness to contribute to change, support new initiatives, and improve existing ways of working

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
