Key Responsibilities

The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations and overall performance of a petrol station and convenience retail business, including:

Managing the range of fuel and retail products to ensure appropriate stock availability, turnover, and service quality

Coordinating purchasing activities, supplier orders, pricing, and stock control to support efficient and profitable operations

Planning and implementing local marketing initiatives, in-store promotions, and pricing strategies to drive sales

Overseeing daily retail sales activities and supporting staff in delivering consistent, high-quality customer service

Maintaining accurate records of stock movement, sales, cash handling, and financial transactions

Preparing and monitoring budgets, expenses, and operational performance against targets

Recruiting, training, rostering, and supervising retail staff, including performance monitoring

Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, fuel safety standards, and company policies

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in a Retail Manager or similar senior retail role

Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory control, and financial management

Experience managing staff, rosters, and performance

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions

Experience in fuel retail, convenience store, or fast-moving retail environments is highly regarded.

Employment Conditions

Full-time position (minimum 38 hours per week)

Salary range: $75,000
- $80,000 + superannuation, depending on experience

Ongoing, secure role based in Hobart, Tasmania
