Team The Office of the Chief Executive is part of Ambulance Tasmania within the Community, Mental Health, and Wellbeing portfolio of the Department of Health. The team provides high-level strategic, operational and administrative support to the Chief Executive and the Executive Team to enable the effective delivery of ambulance services across Tasmania. It collaborates closely with executive leadership, operational areas, clinical services and corporate teams, as well as key external stakeholders such as government agencies and community partners. The team plays a critical role in ensuring coordinated communication, high-quality advice and effective governance processes that support Ambulance Tasmania to deliver safe, responsive and patient-focused care. Role The Manager – Office of the Chief Executive provides strategic leadership, coordination and expert support to the Chief Executive and Executive Team. The role is accountable for the delivery of high-quality briefings, ministerial and executive correspondence, reports and advice, while ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Office. This position manages workflows, balances competing priorities and enables the progression of strategic and operational initiatives across Ambulance Tasmania. Key responsibilities include undertaking research and analysis, preparing high-level submissions and reports, engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive matters, supporting priority projects, contributing to the design and implementation of policies and procedures, and providing advice on sensitive issues. Key responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high-quality briefings, ministerial correspondence, reports and advice to the Chief Executive and Executive Team. Engage with internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive matters. Lead and support priority projects, contribute to policy and procedure design and implementation. Provide advice on sensitive issues and strengthen governance practices. Required skills and experience Highly developed time management skills and the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects. Strong resource‐management skills and experience with contemporary management practice, especially change management. High‐level interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation and conflict‐resolution skills. Ability to represent Ambulance Tasmania and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions in situations of differing interests. Leadership, communication and problem‐solving capabilities and the ability to operate effectively within a complex organisational and political environment. Qualifications Essential: Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or another qualification relevant to leadership/management as approved by the Service; current driver licence. Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in management or current studies being undertaken in this area. Appointment details Permanent full‐time, day worker. Working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Intrastate and interstate travel will be required. Compensation and benefits $150,796 per annum. An Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary packaging includes living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment of $2,650 per FBT year plus other eligible advantages. Career development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum.
