Telehealth Doctor - Contractor (Tasmania) (Hobart)

Overview Alternaleaf is Australia’s largest telehealth provider of its kind, delivering safe and trusted services for over 200,000 patients. Founded in 2021 as part of Montu, our goal is to help Australians access alternative care with ease via telehealth consultations with experienced nurses and doctors. This role is a Tasmanian-based, fully work-from-home position. Job Description Our doctors blend evidence-based practice with innovative approaches to support thousands of patients across Australia. We are seeking experienced AHPRA-registered doctors to join our telehealth team as independent contractors. The role requires around 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate existing commitments. Doctors should be comfortable consulting across a broad range of presentations and age groups. The Role
- Deliver high-quality telehealth consultations across a diverse patient base, including patients under 25
- Manage clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults
- Work closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline care
- Maintain complete documentation and compliance in a digital-first setting
- Embrace digital tools to optimise patient outcomes and service efficiency
- Have a commitment to our patients and their ongoing care Qualifications We’re looking for reliable doctors who excel in fast-paced, digital-first settings and are motivated to make a meaningful impact in an evolving clinical landscape. The consult rate is $60 per consult, with an expected 4 to 6 consults each hour, plus additional incentives for increased availability. You Bring
- MBBS or equivalent and an unrestricted AHPRA registration (Minimum PGY4)
- Excellent time management with the ability to confidently manage 10 minute consults (4-6 patients/hour)
- Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations
- Strong clinical judgement, with an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset
- Strong documentation/admin skills
- Experience working with multiple digital platforms and navigating tech efficiently
